  • The 2026 schedule for our Support Group for Caregivers & Families has been posted: If a loved one is residing here at Matulaitis Home or another long-term care facility in the area, or if you are caring for a loved one at home, consider joining our monthly support group and know that you are not alone in the challenges you face as a caregiver.  See the flyer for details.
  • Attention Matulaitis Residents, Family Members, Responsible Parties, and Visitors:   Please do not bring any products that are petroleum-based, such as lubricants (Vaseline), lotions, or lip balms (Chapstick), including those with beeswax, or Vick’s Vapor Rub for the face, nose, or hands as they are highly combustible and pose a significant fire risk when combined with concentrated oxygen. We have several residents who are oxygen dependent in the facility.Instead, use water-based lubricants, lotions, gels, or aloe vera to treat dry skin, lips, or nose. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in maintaining resident safety.
  • November 2025 — As the holiday season approaches, if your loved one is a resident and you are wondering about celebrating the holidays in the nursing home setting, please consult our letter “Coping with the Holidays When a Loved One is in a Nursing Home” for helpful suggestions and resources.
